Visited Elm Pets on Sunday 6th January with my partner. We were looking to buy two Oscars. As we were inspecting the fish my partner noticed tiny white spots on the fins of a few of them. There were three tanks that contained Oscars and at least one fish had these white spots. We went to find a member of staff...all of them were crowded at the front of the shop chatting. We asked if we could talk to someone about the fish, they all just looked at each other. Finally one girl followed us though to the acquatic section where we pointed out the white spots on the fish. She looked dumbfounded and told us she knew nothing about fish and would speak to someone. After a few minutes she comes back with a guy who claims to be 'the fish guy!' He looks at us then looks at the fish and just says 'yeh it's probably white spot.' He had the good sense to say he wouldn't sell them to us, not that we would have bought an infected Oscar (deep down i wanted to buy them to save them all!) The tanks were pretty filthy and seemed very neglected. The 'fish guy' was more interested in picking up a mop to clean up some dog urine than looking after these poorly fish. The young girl apologised about the fish, it wasn't het fault and she was very professional about the situation. It just makes myself and my partner sad that no one noticed that the fish had this parasite. I hope they sort this soon, before it gets out of hand. 'Fish guy' said to go back Wednesday, i'm pretty sure we won't be.
placed an order for the oak style 230. It stated on the website at the time 5-7 day delivery. So far I have sent 3 emails and visited the shop for an update and am still non the wiser. Customer service is non existent. Tomorrow I will be cancelling the order if I do not hear from them. Avoid this place. Very stressful experience
Really pleased. Went for replacement light for aquarium, tested my old one for me which confirmed it was shot and offered a number of solutions. Great service. Bought fish from here over a year ago still thriving in my tank as well. And internet shop good too.
Hardly any reptiles there only really snakes sheds not removed from vivs and live food stunk and i own enough reptiles to know live food smells slightly but shouldnt smell that bad
