This school is alright but some off the teachers are not great but the students are not the nicist kids but take ur kids here they will become more men
The school is pretty bad. Mostly it's because of the students being the issue but several of the teachers are also guilty. The student's don't want to learn, I was in top set maths but had the bad students in my class who would disrupt the class and annoy the teacher 2 weeks prior to our GCSE exams. As well as this a lot of the students are bullies, shout racial or homophobic remarks for no reason. I got racially bullied here in year 9 and several teachers picked up on it but did nothing. Ironically they have an anti-bullying week too.Sixth form was also a real pain, they say they're going to treat you like an adult but that's a lie. Mr. Julian who was head of sixth form also seems to only love the students he teaches sociology to. For someone like me he humiliated me in the canteen in front of other students and staff giving me 3 days detention because I didn't go home to change my shorts. I had two reasons why I didn't go home which were because I couldn't get a lift, and two I was finished with lesson that day when he told me and I was just staying extra to work on my Art project. But yeah by all means give me a punishment for wanting to do extra work. Because of this i had to also explain to my driving instructor why i couldn't attend my lesson...It's silly because i kept my head down throughout being at this school, got my work done and got good grades but he would happily punish me for a minor mistake like that. Other students are worse and do drugs etc. I was even offered to buy some from them. Most of the teachers are really good and want to help the students. The only one i remember who ever went out of their way to make sure a student was sanctioned for making racial remarks to me was Mr. Postgate. so I say thank you to him for that because the 13 year old me at the time didn't know what to do.
If your son is black,or struggles to consentrate... DO NOT i repeat DO NOT send him too this school.
The school is pathetic half of the teachers are biased do not send your children here it is not good for education in fact I go to this school now and I wish I could of left to go to Robert Napier because half of the people I know going there are getting decent grades and I'm stuck here failing Math's because my teacher is not teaching me in fact her exact words was you can teach yourself trigonometry like I am not going to lie I am not the best behaved kid but most of the teachers just try to annoy you if you was to hear half of my experiences and my friends you would not let your children go to this school I have also been excluded for many things. But once I was excluded and got excluded again for something I apparently did whilst I was excluded the teachers (including the heads) just want some students to go to another school but they don't do anything to other students, and the kids in the school are awful the amount of fights I have seen in my time is unbelievable also when Ofsted come to the school the teachers is where they are most active otherwise they do nothing that is the only way that the school is still open I really disagree with the school rules and how they deal with certain students thank for reading do not send your child here please note that applies to some teachers but some do actually care but a small percentage.
Bullying is present in this school. I got hit once.
