I had my 1st appt. yesterday. Saw a man of very few words who examined my mouth having given him the reason for my visit. He told me I needed an x-ray & to get it from my previous dentist otherwise I would pay for it if they had to do it. Also told me to ring their Sister practice to make an apt with the Hygienist. Once done make apt to go back to discuss further treatment. I paid the NHS Examination fee of 21.60. I have since found out that an x ray & descale/polish should have been included in this fee. After several attempts to actually speak to the Receptionist thereafter, she was very helpful & confirmed this should be available within the fee although certain criteria apply, but none I felt was applicable to me. I will not be returning & would strongly NOT recommend this Dental Practice.
I have been with this dentist since i was a child, since Dr Murphy no longer works or owns this dental practice , it has gone downhill. I wouldn't recommend. I called to make an appointment this morning to be told i no longer are on the books due to having to cancel a previous appointment due to an emergency as explained to the receptionist. The receptionist just said i had been told this, which i hadn't been. Last time i waited an extra 30 minutes to see the dentist as they were meant to open at 9am but didn't open the doors till 9.30am! Also, make sure they stick to what they tell you at an appointment, the dentist told me i needed root canal for me then go back a week later to say i don't need it and i only need a filling.
Dont waste your time, after going to theire other dentist and being told i have a sensitive tooth and be told to use sensidyne paste, months passed still in pain with it, i was sent here as an emergency... and was told on the phone the dentist would take the tooth out.Got there after 45 min wait and an xray to be told the tooth is fine just sensitive i need to have it out or root canal... fine i said can you take it out. I was then told no as i need antibiotics?? Why its not infected its sensitive. So another week passes unable to eat or drink that side without pain, lost a days work i finally went to a decent dentist who done a proper examination of the tooth told me its likely a hairline fracture or a leaky filling and said there n then he would remove the filling and if the tooth looked ok refill it or just remove it.Well the tooth was fine!! Its been filled and no more pain....This is the worst dentist iv been to, i wont be going there again!
